‘Blippi’ Creator Stevin John Asks $3.6 Million for an L.A. Home

He made his YouTube debut in early 2014 with a video for Blippi, a lighthearted but instructive children’s program he created to amuse his young nephew. However, since then, brand-building entrepreneur Stevin John has undoubtedly advanced significantly. With over 35 billion YouTube views to date, the show has a devoted fan base that includes both adults and kids. It is currently available on all major streaming services, and there is merchandising, a touring musical, and offshoot programs like Blippi’s Treehouse. About four years ago, the creator and original host even succeeded in selling his brand in a profitable $120 million licensing agreement.

His rising stardom also made it possible for him to buy a recently listed $2.8 million Los Angeles house for slightly under $3.6 million. Even though the listed price is around $800,000 more than John paid for the contemporary farmhouse-style residences back in the spring of 2020, the 36-year-old native of Washington State has dedicated much of the previous four years to completely personalizing the space. Compass owner Michael Bergin is the owner of the listing.

Additionally, the house is located in the prestigious Toluca Lake, a celebrity-studded community that is home to Steve Carell, Melissa McCarthy, and Macaulay Culkin. The two-tone and metal-roof home was constructed in 2019 and is tucked away behind walls and gates, guarded by a security system. It has five en suite bedrooms and seven bathrooms in approximately 3,800 square feet of open-plan living space, complete with white oak hardwood floors, high wood-beam ceilings, shiplap details, sliding glass doors, and Control4 technology throughout.

The two-story home has an attached two-car garage and a porch in front. Highlights inside include a foyer that leads to a living and dining area surrounded by windows and heated by a gorgeous fireplace. The gourmet kitchen, which has two sinks, quartz countertops, an eat-in island, premium Thermador appliances, and a butler’s pantry, is accessible through a bar area that is equipped with a wine fridge. Off the kitchen, a family area features built-in storage and cabinets along with a wall of sliding glass doors that open to the garden.

There’s a laundry room and a dual-desk office nook elsewhere, and the main suite is large, with a large balcony, a walk-in closet, a fireplace, and an opulent bathroom highlighted by a glass-enclosed shower and an oval soaking tub. All of this is situated beneath a vaulted pitched ceiling. Less than a quarter of an acre of private grounds surround the pool and spa, which are surrounded by an outdoor cabana with a convenient outdoor shower, a bar and grill area, and a partially covered patio perfect for sitting al fresco.

John got engaged to his long-term partner Alyssa Ingham in August 2021. The pair apparently keeps their primary home in the Pacific Northwest, and they have a son together.
