Retired MLB player and one-time MVP Jimmy Rollins has finally sold his Los Angeles house, which closed on Friday for $9 million, Mansion Global has learned.
Rollins, 45, who was a shortstop for the Phillies for most of his career, purchased the home through a limited liability company in 2018 for $8.7 million, according to property records.
Details of Friday’s sale have yet to reach public records, so information on the buyer isn’t available.
He first listed the Encino home in October 2022 for $11.75 million, and after several price reductions, it was most recently asking $9.45 million, according to listing records.
Built in 2018, the modern property spans 10,419 square feet and includes a seven-bedroom main house and a separate two-story, two-bedroom guest house, which also has a large living room, its own kitchen and a patio.
The property is gated and surrounded by tall hedges, creating a sense of privacy on the half-acre lot.
The double-height foyer leads into large living spaces that open to the backyard, which has a pool, a hot tub, and various spaces for entertaining and lounging.
Other features include smart-home systems, a theater, a glass-encased wine room and a 3,000-square-foot rooftop lounge. The second floor is also lined with balconies.
Josh Altman and Matt Altman of the Altman Brothers at Douglas Elliman along with Carl Gambino of the Gambino Group at Compass represented Rollins in the deal. The Altmans declined to comment on the sale, and Gambino was not available for comment. Sigal Diamant of Nelson Shelton Real Estate represented the buyer and did not immediately respond to request for comment.
Rollins retired from baseball in 2016 and is now an analyst for MLB on TBS and the co-chair of the Commissioner’s Ambassador Program, which features 12 former players who participate in various MLB events. A representative for Rollins did not respond to a request for comment.
