Here at Cosmo, we won’t deny that we LOVE a bold celebrity red carpet look – and there have been *many* truly epic ones in recent months. Still thinking about Elle Fanning’s nipple pasty dress at Cannes Film Festival? Us too, peeps. Us too.
That being said, we must admit that there is something about an off-duty style moment that just hits different. Seeing celebs out of their hours-long glam and carefully curated high-drama looks, and instead just flexing their fashun muscles in what they *really* want to wear… Well, there’s nothing quite like it, tbqh. Whether they’re in a chic Pilates ‘fit, out running errands, doing interviews or even walking the dog, celebs’ personal style really shines through when they don’t have the whole world watching, and we love to see it.
Which is why we have found ourselves absolutely living for every time Jennifer Lawrence has left the house recently. Don’t know what we’re talking about? Let us introduce you to the internet’s latest style obsession…
Can we get a “hell yeah!” for Jennifer’s GLORIOUS Armani Privé look, as spotted yesterday outside the Watch What Happens Live studio?! It’s the perfect mix of smart and casual, featuring a princess-like pale pink sparkly dress contrasted with a more formal black jacket – and paparazzi-ready black-out sunnies, too.
But more importantly, Jen’s latest look is just the cherry on top of her recent run of *seriously* epic off-duty ‘fits. Is the 32-year-old actress currently in the midst of an effortlessly cool style renaissance? We think so… And it seems to all be down to her new stylist, Jamie Mizrahi.
If her recent looks are anything to go by (and they deffo are), then we can safely say that Jennifer Lawrence has entered her sophisticated 32-year-old woman era – and we’re totally here for it. In the past few weeks alone, she’s done ‘quiet luxury’ in an asymmetric grey two-piece by The Row, nailed timeless throwback style in Old Celine, ticked off the utilitarian trend in a Carolina Herrera mini-dress, and relied heavily on fashion-insider ‘stealth wealth’ staple-brands including Totême, Proenza Schouler and Alaïa more times than we can count.
Even Jen’s red carpet looks have been noticeably more low-key and grown-up – though no less fabulous. Case in point: her fashion-forward yet pared-back Loewe look for the Sin Malos Rollos premiere in Madrid last week, or her black Givenchy suit-dress in Berlin.
Then, there have been the truly *classique* street style lewks. Jeans, Sambas and The Row cashmere for a chilly spring day; head-to-toe white for summer in the city; floor-length cashmere coats paired with a bang-on-trend crossbody bag… The list goes on.
Then, of course, there was her legendary decision to pair a glamorous Dior ballgown with flip-flops in Cannes… Not to mention, her sheer embroidered Christian Dior Couture dress for the No Hard Feelings premiere in London – a subtle nod to the ‘underwear as outerwear’ trend without the need to go naked.
All we can say is: keep doin’ what you’re doin’ Jen. The obsession has only just begun.
