How Lizzo gets her millions and spends them: from starting Yitty to purchasing a house that was once owned by Harry Styles

Lizzo lived out of her car and struggled to make ends meet before she became well-known.

In a 2022 interview with Variety, the Grammy and Emmy winner opened up about losing her job and apartment in 2009 after her father’s sudden death. She also said she lived in her 1998 Subaru.

“I was like, ‘Damn,’ that was 2009 [and I’m] still anxious. I still feel like something’s gonna get taken away from me. I’m still scared, and I think it’s unfortunate,” she told Variety. “But I am grateful that all these years later, I have a house. I have family, friends, people who love me, and now I have control of that situation. Where I didn’t have control, when I had a lot of fear [before], I have a lot of peace now.”

When Lizzo collaborated with Prince in 2014, she received her first large cheque.

Prince, the state’s music icon, became interested in Lizzo after she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 2011 following the breakup with her previous band.

She contributed a performance to his 2014 song “Boy Trouble.”

“When I got my first big check from Prince, I decided it would go for three months’ rent and buying myself a laptop,” she told Texas Music in 2019. “And I treat myself on food — I love food.”

She became a major player in the music industry with her song “Truth Hurts”.

The song became 17 times platinum, which indicates that it has sold at least 17 million certified units in digital singles, according to the RIAA. It peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2019.

It established Lizzo’s financial empire and elevated her to a prominent position in the music business.

She makes millions through touring.

Lizzo makes a lot of money from traveling, just like most artists.

2019 saw Lizzo go on tour in support of her third album, “Cuz I Love You”. She sold around 250,000 tickets, and her tours brought in $10.8 million that year, according to Billboard.

Touring Data reports that her most recent tour, “Special,” brought in $66.5 million.

In 2022, she introduced her shapewear brand, Yitty.

The most recent celebrity to launch a clothing brand is Lizzo.

She introduced Yitty, a product made for various body types, via Fabletics.

According to The Business of Fashion, the company’s first day of business brought in over $1 million. Additionally, the site states that Yitty “expects its sales will grow to nearly $100 million in 2023.”

She splurges on luxurious real estate, which includes a house that Harry Styles once owned.

The artist has acquired some stunning homes by using her value.

In 2020, she offered Vogue a tour of her $26 million property in Los Angeles’ Echo Park neighborhood.

She paid $5,000 a night to rent a 4,300-square-foot, two-acre hillside compound in Palm Springs during the pandemic, according to Architectural Digest.

Then, for $15 million, she purchased the Beverly Hills home that Harry Styles had previously occupied in 2022, according to Los Angeles Magazine.

The house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus “walls of glass” that lead into the nearly 1,000-square-foot master suite, which features a lavish bedroom and bathroom divided by a floor-to-ceiling marble slab wall.

Her neighbors include Jessica Alba and Demi Moore.
