Charles Leclerc stuns fans by bike riding home after historic Monaco Grand Prix victory… before partying with royal family at swanky celebration

Formula 1 fans leaving the Monaco Grand Prix were shocked to see race winner Charles Leclerc on his pushbike, just hours after his historic victory on the streets of Monte Carlo.

Social media videos showed the Ferrari driver powering up a hill on his bike, seemingly heading home to prepare for a big night of celebrating.

He rocked his team polo and cap, along with jeans and sneakers, as he held his phone up to one ear, presumably fielding throngs of congratulatory messages.

‘He rode right past me at the exit for the K grandstands as I walked to the train. Baffling. Nobody bothered him. So so cool,’ one fan commented on the clip.

The 26-year-old is only the second Monegasque driver to finish on the top step of the podium at their home race. The other was Louis Chiron almost a century ago in 1931.

Leclerc’s victory also marked the end of an apparent ‘curse,’ which has seen him clinch pole position at Monaco twice before without so much as a podium to show for it.

He later admitted to having tears in his eyes during the closing stages of the race as he thought about his late father Herve, who died in 2017.

‘No words can explain that,’ he said of his win. ‘It’s the race that made me dream of becoming a Formula 1 driver one day.’

Leclerc added, ‘My dad gave everything for me and it was a dream of ours for me to race here and win here, so it’s unbelievable.’

Speaking on his team radio after winning the race, the athlete joked, ‘I hope Jimmy’z is ready,’ referencing the swanky nightclub where he planned to let loose.

Before that, he had an appointment at Grimaldi Palace for a post-race dinner with Prince Albert and the royal family.

He was joined by Ferrari team boss, Fred Vasseur, and his girlfriend, Alexandra Saint Mleux, before the group headed to Jimmy’z to celebrate.

Some of his closest pals on the grid, including McLaren’s Lando Norris and Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, were also on hand to party the night away.

They were seen spraying Dom Pérignon champagne while Leclerc paraded around the club, wrapped in a Monaco flag.

Across town, Norris’ teammate, 23-year-old Oscar Piastri celebrated his P2 finish at the Amber Lounge party with girlfriend, Lily Zneimer.

Leclerc’s teammate, Carlos Sainz was also spotted at the starry soiree with his girlfriend, Rebecca Donaldson and her model pal, Lilia Weddell.
