Cardi B Is Afraid to Discuss “Life Changes” in Her New Song: “Some Turn My Anguish Against Me”
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ rapper revealed how her reluctance to discuss her personal life and politics in her music has been caused by public upheaval.
Cardi B is disclosing the reasons behind her reluctance to discuss her personal life in her latest album.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper spoke up on why she hasn’t been forthcoming in her new music about relationships, her personal life, and politics in a recent Rolling Stone cover story interview. “I really want to talk about the life changes that I’ve been dealing with the past six, seven years,” she tells the news organization. “But then it’s just like, I feel like people don’t deserve to know because people use my pain against me.”
Many of the artist’s private affairs have been made public in recent months. She has been married to fellow rapper and Migos member Offset since September 2017, but they have a history of publicized splits. In multiple December 2023 Instagram Live streams, she vented about her relationship with Offset, saying that she had “been single for a minute now.”
Though they have had a sporadically steady relationship, the two were even seen holding hands at a post-Met Gala party earlier this month. Son Wave Set, 2, and daughter Kulture Kiari, 5, are also shared by the couple. In addition, Offset is the father of two sons and one girl from past unions.
