Barcelona become the third most valued club in the world

Despite their slips on the field, Barcelona remain among the most important clubs in the world. Possessing one of the biggest fanbases in the world, it is no wonder La Blaugrana are as big as they are. However, the value of a club like Barcelona can also be reflected in numbers, as well as through being an attractive entity.

Most major footballing entities remain concerned about their overall valuation for good reason. The example of the Premier League clubs, for instance, is a good one. Their sales are typically based on the valuation of those clubs as per investors and buyers.

In the case of Barcelona, however, the numbers reflect just how massive they continue to be. As highlighted by SPORT, ‘Forbes’ has just released their own list valuing various clubs from around the world. Within the list, FC Barcelona rank at third place in the top 30.

Talking about exact numbers, Barcelona are currently valued at €4.98 billion. This marks a 10% increase from last year’s valuation that Forbes assigned to the club. In this year’s iteration, they are behind only Real Madrid, valued at €5.49 billion, and Manchester United, valued at €5.42 billion.

However, Barcelona also stand ahead of other European sides such as Liverpool, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, PSG, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal. Unsurprisingly rather, the Premier League takes up six of the top ten slots on the list.

Apart from Barcelona and Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid exists as the only other La Liga representative. In total, only three clubs come in from La Liga across the entirety of the top 30. On the other hand, England puts forth 12 representatives across the entire list.

The rather surprising inclusions come from the American MLS, however. With seven representatives from the USA, the MLS becomes the league with the second most number of representatives. They are followed by Serie A (4 teams), La Liga (2 teams), Bundesliga (2 teams), and Ligue 1 (2 teams).
