Margot Robbie‘s diehard fans will know that she used to belong to an all-girl surf gang when she was growing up in Queensland.
And the stunning actress had a chance to get back to her Aussie roots while starring in a new campaign for Nissan.
Margot, 27, donned a figure-hugging black wetsuit to ride waves in Malibu, California, last month.

Looking effortless in the water, the Suicide Squad starlet wore her cropped blonde locks in tousled beachy waves as she filmed a short clip to promote sustainable living.
The Oscar-nominated thespian took to Instagram to share the stunning black-and-white video with her 14.3million followers.
She said: ‘So proud of my partnership with @NissanEurope, being an ambassador for their electric sustainability program.

While she looked like a complete water baby in the surfing trailer, Margot was caught wiping out in the waves a couple of years ago on a beach outing with her husband Tom Ackerley.
During a romantic getaway in Hawaii, Margot impressed her then-boyfriend with her surfing skills until she got caught out slipping off her board – which was captured by a sneaky paparazzi.
Sharing the hilarious shot on Instagram at the time, she said: ‘Photo cred to the creepy pap hiding in the bushes.
‘Thanks for always catching me at my best angles #blessed.’
Meanwhile Margot is rumoured to be starring in her own Suicide Squad spin-off movie, dedicated to the iconic DC Comics character Harley Quinn.
Deadline Hollywood reported that Cathy Yan will direct the blockbuster – after Margot apparently championed a female director – and production could begin as soon as this year.

But before she started filming Suicide Squad, Margot admitted that she wasn’t a huge Harley Quinn fan.
‘I wasn’t familiar with the comics,’ she told The Washington Post. ‘I had vaguely heard of them, but I had no idea that there was such a big fan-base for Harley.
‘I knew that it would be a big responsibility to do the character justice and satisfy the fans.’
