Ariana Grande shares LA move story on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Ariana Grande opened up to her new co-star on The Voice while appearing on Monday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The 28-year-old pop superstar was asked by Kelly, 39, about the first time she ever moved to Los Angeles as her talk show was celebrating the nation’s second-largest city this week.

‘The first time I came to LA was for my Victorious callback. I was so nervous, but so excited,’ said Ariana, referencing the Nickelodeon series that she starred in from March 2010 to February 2013.

‘I was really young. I was 14, but I had never been here until my callback. And then my mom was like, ”Do you think you could really do this? We’ll get a place, should we get an apartment?”,’ Ariana said.

Ariana noted that they waited ‘a long time’ between callbacks and that she and her mom were staying in a hotel.

‘She was like, ”Should we just get an apartment? Do you think you’re going to get this thing?” And I was like, ”I hope so. I have no idea”,” Ariana recalled.

‘Thank god,’ she said of landing the role of Cat Valentine in Victorious. ‘Because what if I didn’t get it and then she was like, ”Well we have this lease for the next six months”.’
