She added that it is also about how she should be ‘ghosting’ the person she was in love with, prompting the name of the no doubt soon-to-be hit track.

Ariana and Mac split after a two-year relationship and she soon found love again with Pete, who proposed to her just weeks after the first reports they were dating.
Taking the time to dissect the lyrics in the track, Elle magazine speculated on the lines in the song that could be linked to her past relationships.
The line: ‘Baby, you do it so well. You been so understanding, you been so good. And I’m puttin’ you through more than one ever should. And I’m hating myself ’cause you don’t want to. Admit that it hurts you’, could potentially be about Ariana’s struggle over losing Pete, who died following an alleged drug overdose in September.
It was also suggested by the publication that the lyrics: ‘I know that it breaks your heart when I cry again. Over him’ presumably mean that the ‘him’ is Mac.
