Saudi Arabian powerbroker Turki Alalshikh teases ‘huge’ event at Wembley later this year…after Eddie Hearn revealed plans for Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to fight each other TWICE

The Saudi Arabian powerbroker who has been instrumental in bringing some of the biggest boxing matches to the Gulf State, has teased a ‘huge’ show at Wembley for later this year.

Turki Alalshikh has been a constant presence ring side in recent years and his name is never been far from the lips of fighters and promoters after their high-profile clashes.

The Saudi advisor’s list of achievements include bringing the Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou and Anthony Joshua vs Ngannou bouts to the Middle East as well as the undisputed heavyweight clash between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk on May 18.

But his attention has now seemingly turned to an event overseas and London could be the beneficiary of a mega night of action.

‘I’m talking, thinking and studying with Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn to do something huge in Wembley in the third quarter as a commercial for Riyadh Season.’ He said.

The most recent high-profile bout in Saudi Arabia was Anthony Joshua’s emphatic win over Francis Ngannou earlier this month

‘This is a gentleman called Turki Alalshikh, who is obviously a very influential figure in sports and entertainment in Saudi Arabia,’ Hearn said on The Sports Agents podcast.

‘He’s also the biggest fight fan I’ve ever met. And quite amazingly, he’s now talking about staging two Fury vs AJ fights – one in Saudi Arabia and one at Wembley Stadium.’

Joshua and Fury have both fought at Wembley before, experiencing some of their best nights in boxing at the iconic venue.

AJ beat Wladimir Klitschko in front of 90,000 fans at Wembley in 2017, rising from the canvas to stop the Ukrainian in the 11th round of a back-and-forth contest.

He returned the following year to knock out Russia’s Alexander Povetkin in the seventh round.

Fury was also victorious at the national team stadium as he beat Dillian Whyte in 2022.
