Kylian Mbappe breaks silence on future amid Real Madrid links

Speaking at a press conference today, PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe has refused to reveal where his future lies amid links to Real Madrid.

Mbappe’s contract at PSG expires at the end of the season and the 25-year-old superstar is on his way out when the deal runs out.

Everything indicates that the French international will be on his way to Real Madrid, with negotiations understood to be in the final phase.

However, none of the parties involved have given away anything so far, and Mbappe also toed the same line, stating that he will make an announcement on the subject when he has something to announce.

“I have nothing to announce. The day I have something to say, I will say it, but until then there is nothing to say,” Mbappe said at the press conference.

When asked if he was bothered by all the speculations and the rumours, he added: “Have you seen me upset in my last few games? I’m always focused on the next game.”

“I have never hidden. The day I have to announce something I will do it, I have never been afraid, I will come and say it. It won’t be anything serious, it’s just that I don’t have anything important to announce now, I’m sorry to disappoint you.”

When asked about his expiring contract at PSG, Mbappe replied: “Yes, but it’s not a topic of conversation now. The question of whether I’m going to stay or not is irrelevant now. The idea of the treble is more important than whether I stay or not,” he replied.

Mbappe went on to add that he expects the matter of his future to be sorted by the time the Euros start, saying:

“I will concentrate on the French national team when the European Championship comes around. I think by then everything (his future) will be sorted out.”

The 25-year-old was also asked about the viral video of Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni arguing about who’s the better footballer.

Many believed that the Real Madrid pair were talking about Mbappe and Erling Haaland, but it was not, with Tchouameni explaining that the discussion was about Eric Dier and Dayot Upamecano.

On the matter, Mbappe said: “We laughed a lot, it was nice, I thought it was about me but it’s not.”
