Bayern Munich director confirms club have sent final extension offer to Real Madrid target

With Real Madrid entering the final stages of the season, planning for the summer transfer window will undeniably be taking shape.

One of the major talking points has been the club’s desire to strengthen the left-back position, as Real Madrid have been linked tremendously with Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies over the past few months.

The Champions League winner’s future has been called into question a great deal owing to his refusal to pen a new contract without a significant financial increase.

And now Bayern Munich’s sporting director Max Eberl has given an update on the situation, touching upon Davies’ links with Real Madrid.

From the horse’s mouth

Acknowledging the contract negotiations have been going on for a while now, with a resolution yet to be reached, Eberl stated Bayern have made a valued proposition.

“I can say that we made Alphonso a very concrete, appreciative offer. At some point in life, you have to say yes or no,” he said via Christian Falk (h/t iMiaSanMia).

When asked if Real Madrid have shown any interest in signing him, Eberl claimed there have not been any contacts between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid: “Real Madrid hasn’t contacted us.”

Final offer

Furthermore, as per the information, Bayern is proposing Alphonso Davies a €13–14 million contract that would run until 2029.

It is the last offer from the club and the Bavarians have no intention of raising it any further.

Even so, Davies is demanding gross pay of €20 million per season, while Bayern Munich’s most recent offer barely comes close to €14 million.

As such, if Davies does not accept Bayern’s terms, it is safe to say Bayern will list him on the transfer market, paving the path for Real Madrid to make a solid approach.
