Joe Alwyn never has to “worry about money again” after co-writing six songs on his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift’s last three albums.

Joe Alwyn is still reaping the benefits of his past six-year romance with ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift, nearly a year after their shock split in early 2023.

Despite their breakup, which is rumored to be the inspiration of the superstar’s upcoming album The Tortured Poets Department, the 33-year-old actor is said to be making millions a year from his songwriting credits on her past three albums.

‘Fair or not, it’s made him a very rich guy,’ a source told Life & Style. ‘Joe is making so much on royalties and returns from [Taylor’s] Eras tour that he doesn’t ever need to worry about money again.’

The outlet also reported that the Conversations with Friends star has already ‘pocketed about $2.3 million for Spotify streams alone.’

He will continually earn money from additional streaming and any of Swift’s live performances of their songs.

The insider added that Swift is ‘furious’ that Alwyn is making a fortune from their work together.

Alwyn, who wrote under the pseudonym William Bowery, cowrote six songs with Swift, 34, including Exile and Betty from her hit 2020 album Folklore, which earned him a Grammy.

Additionally, they teamed up on the tracks Champagne Problems, Evermore and Coney Island on Evermore (2020).

Their last song together, Sweet Nothing, was featured on 2022’s Midnights.

Last year, The Sun reported that ‘Joe will be raking in a fortune from these songs for years.’

‘Taylor’s albums sold millions and continue to be huge on streaming services,’ the insider noted. ‘He will easily be making a five-figure sum every year from his contributions. Writing six songs for albums as big as Taylor’s guarantees a healthy income stream for life.’

The couple dated for six years before calling it quits last spring.

Many fans are convinced Swift’s forthcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department, will detail the end of their relationship.

Previously, a source close to Alwyn revealed to DailyMail.com that the title of her forthcoming record is a thinly-veiled dig to her ex.

Insiders said that he does not believe she will divulge negative details about him and would be shocked if she wrote about their relationship in her new album.

One source said it would be ‘shady’ for her to ‘diss’ him in any way as he’s remained so stoically silent about their split on his part.

However, he reportedly does believe the name of her album is an ‘undeniable’ reference to the WhatsApp group he shares with pals Paul Mescal and Andrew Scott — which is called The Tortured Man Club.

‘Taylor knocked him for the name of this when they were together,’ the source revealed. ‘She didn’t want people to think that it has anything to do with her, so when he spoke out about it, she was, of course, bothered.’

The insider added: ‘Joe has no reason to believe yet that she is going to diss him or their relationship.

‘She writes about her past using code and points of reference. It may just be that she is reflecting on their time together and he is hoping it is nothing more.

‘If it is a diss album, that is shady,’ the insider continued.

‘He helped her with song writing on her past album, so it will really come as a shock to him if she talks about their breakup, as it is something he has not spoke of at all.’

Another insider told DailyMail.com that Alwyn ‘has not said one word about Taylor or their breakup and has been completely respectful of her.
