Conor McGregor breaks silence on ‘low-interest’ bout announcement between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson

Conor McGregor shares his thoughts on one of the most discussed fights of 2024. Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson has taken the internet by storm and surprised everybody. Both fighters are set to collide in an exhibition match on July 20th. The buzz-worthy fight will be held at the Dallas Cowboys’ home turf, AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Despite the 30-year age gap, Tyson seems excited for the challenge.

He’s acknowledged Paul’s growing skills and expressed interest in testing himself against a younger opponent. This exhibition has all the makings of a must-watch event for boxing fans and casual viewers alike. Even though, many believe that Mike Tyson will dominate Paul even at the age of 57, the former UFC champion Conor McGregor isn’t too sure about this match-up.

He wasn’t sure how to respond when he was asked about his opinions on the marquee contest between the legendary heavyweight fighter and a Youtuber-turned-boxer. Still, it was quite obvious that McGregor didn’t approve of it. In a small video uploaded by Happy Punch on X, McGregor gets asked the burning question by the reporter. He seemed to be in denial of its popularity, since he stated that the interest is low, however that doesn’t seem to be the case on the social media platforms.

McGregor replied, “Oh geez I don’t- it’s a bit strange, you know. The interest is low, I don’t know, I don’t understand it. I wish well for Mike.” So, he probably belongs on the spectrum where he thinks that it’s a bit dangerous for Tyson to take a fight at such an old age. But, notably, despite all the criticism, this bout will definitely be watched by millions all around the world. Stay tuned for more!
