Jennifer Lawrence’s first Oscar win is marred by on-stage stumble and insinuations of faking it!
Jennifer Lawrence said winning the Best Actress Academy Award in 2013 for portraying a troubled young widow, Tiffany Maxwell in the comedy-drama Silver Linings Playbook didn’t make her happy for long.

With this award, she became the second-youngest winner in the category at just the age of 22 (after Marlee Matlin, who won for Best Actress at twenty-one for Children of a Lesser God). But for Lawrence, it was more like a quick burst of joy followed by the usual chaos of life.
As she strutted towards the stage to grab her trophy and say her thanks, she pulled off an epic stair-fumble in front of the A-list crowd and those watching on TV. J.Law has confessed that she was sensitive about the incident for a long time.
Oscar Fall Left Jennifer Lawrence Rattled in Her Very First Academy Award Acceptance Speech

Jennifer Lawrence stars as ‘Katniss Everdeen’ in The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games star confessed on Heather McMahan’s Absolutely Not podcast (via People) that she was so superstitious and didn’t write a speech for the event. Instead, she simply had everything she wanted to say in her head. The now 33-year-old said:
“I was ready for it. I was very nervous and also very superstitious. I didn’t want to acknowledge the possibility that I would win. I didn’t want to write down a speech. I had everything in my head. I was very, very nervous but I was ready. All of the adrenaline clears out and they call my name and I’m elated and I’m in shock. And then I fell, and it erased everything from my mind. My full brain went blank. I can look back at it now fondly but for a very long time the fall thing was very sensitive.”
As for the slip, Lawrence handled it well by acknowledging the awkward moment. She joked while accepting the Oscar for Best Actress (via Oscars official YouTube channel), “You guys are just standing up because I fell and that’s really embarrassing, but thank you.”
Even though Lawrence received a standing ovation from the crowd after her fall, she was still upset about the trip. The star felt “horrific humiliation” when a news anchor cracked a joke about it later on.

Things started to be at pace after her famous Oscar fall, but Jennifer Lawrence started to feel even more embarrassed about it a few days later. Because it was exacerbated by CNN journalist Anderson Cooper’s insinuation that she might have faked the incident. She was totally crushed by his words.
Later, at a Christmas party, the 2014’s Sexiest Women in the World ran into Cooper. The actress told McMahan on Absolutely Not podcast that she asked the journalist, “What I led with was, ‘Have you ever tried to walk up stairs in a ball gown? So then how do you know?,” which led him to apologize to her immediately.
Lawrence channeled a modern princess in her Dior couture strapless ball gown for the 85th Academy Awards, designed by Raf Simons for Christian Dior Haute Couture. Guess what? The dress is rumored to be worth $4 Million (via Marie Claire).
As of now, she has a total of four Oscar nods, which is no small feat. Lawrence’s comedy No Hard Feelings in 2023 was a hit and now she has several movies slated for release in 2024 and beyond.
According to IMDb (via Screen Rant), she is currently working on five feature films: Burial Rites, East of Eden, Sue, Mob Girl, Die, My Love, and an untitled Jennifer Lawrence/Amy Schumer project.
