Scarlett Johansson has signed up a fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe star for her upcoming film.

The Black Widow actress is making her directorial debut with Eleanor the Great, which was previously known as Eleanor, Invisible.

As reported by Variety, Doctor Strange series actor Chiwetel Ejiofor (also known for Love Actually, 12 Years a Slave, and The Lion King) is part of the cast, as are Nebraska’s June Squibb, Friends and Breaking Bad star Jessica Hecht, and Willow’s Erin Kellyman.

Hecht also starred in Jessica Jones, while Kellyman featured in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, making Eleanor the Great even more of a MCU get-together.

Outside of the MCU, it serves as a reunion for Johansson and Hecht after they acted in the Broadway play A View from the Bridge together, and both received Tony nominations for their performances.

The film features Squibb as the titular Eleanor Morgenstein, a 90-year woman who has just lost her best friend. After living in Florida for decades, she decides to rebuild her life by moving back to New York City.

Last year, rumours were circulating that Marvel Studios was planning to bring back some of the original Avengers cast, but Johansson poured cold water over that idea, noting that her character was dead.

I don’t know how that [would work], would that be like a zombie film?” she said. “I mean I think it might be, I think [Endgame] was the end, right? I don’t know how you come back from that.

“I would have to… it would be a miracle. It would be a real Marvel miracle. It would be a real marvel. But you know, who knows?”
