Production has begun for a whole slew of 2021 movies, and Jennifer Lawrence is turning heads with a dramatic new hair look she was photographed wearing on the set of her new movie, Don’t Look Up. The 30-year-old actress was seen on set with a face shield, rocking strawberry red locks and clipped bangs which covered only half of her forehead. Chic!
Lawrence, who is busy filming the Netflix movie Don’t Look Up alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, was unrecognizable with her new fringe and bright hair color. The actress has tried a range of styles for her role in the Hunger Games saga, and this isn’t the first time she’s edged into such shocking territory. In her role as Mystique in X-Men, Lawrence wore her hair in a similar red shade, accented by bright blue skin.
The movie, which will premiere in 2021 with a star studded cast of Lawrence, DiCaprio, Timothee Chalamet, Ariana Grande and more, is a drama which follows a pair of astronomers as they attempt to warn society that a giant meteorite is set to destroy Earth in just six months. Several shots from behind the scenes have shown Lawrence with her new hair, which appears to be collarbone length–a departure from her usual long, blonde locks.
Lawrence was dealt a tough blow last week when her family farm in Kentucky went up in flames, destroying the main barn which doubled as an office. The space was used as a summer camp, which the actress’s brother is the owner and director of, but fortunately much of the camp emerged unscathed and intact. Lawrence has been known to visit the farm over the years, and her brother put out a call on Twitter asking for support in his bid to rebuild by next summer.
While Don’t Look Up still has no formal release date, we’re excited for what else the film will bring to 2021–other than a major hair transformation from J Law! While her microbangs may not be at the top of our list of hairstyles to try for the new year, it’s always fun to see the looks straight from Hollywood. We do love the red!
