Khabib’s coach reveals savage reason for wanting to see Conor McGregor make UFC return against Michael Chandler

KHABIB NURMAGOMEDOV’S coach wants to see Conor McGregor back in the UFC again… so he can watch him lose.

McGregor and Nurmagomedov shared one of the most bitter rivalries in UFC history.

The Irishman was beaten by submission in round four but a post-fight brawl between the camps kept the bad blood brewing.

McGregor has continued to take aim at Nurmagomedov even after his arch enemy retired.

So Nurmagomedov’s long-time trainer Javier Mendez wants nothing more than to celebrate a McGregor defeat if and when he returns.

Mendez told Casino Alpha: “I think McGregor-Chandler happens because Conor’s too much of a fighter not to fight again.

“I’d love to see him fight, but I’d love to see him lose too. I’d like to see him fight because I’d like to see him lose because I don’t think he’s a good person.”

The bitter bout at UFC 229 sold an MMA record of 2.4million pay-per-views – fuelling demand for a rematch.

But Nurmagomedov announced his retirement in 2020 just months after the death of his father and mentor Abdulmanap.

McGregor – having seen his shot at redemption denied – has always taken the chance to hit out at the Russian when given the chance.

But he took it to the extreme following his defeat to Dustin Poirier in July of 2021.

Nurmagomedov posted after the fight: “Good always defeats evil. Very happy for @DustinPoirier I hope you will get the belt end of the year”.

McGregor responded a few weeks later with a since-deleted tweet stating: “Covid is good and father is evil?”

The Notorious never apologised for the insensitive comment and Mendez said: “He brought pain to a lot of people and hit my nerves when he said ‘father evil Covid good’.

“He was referencing Khabib’s father. The whole world suffered through Covid. F*** you, McGregor.

“All the tragedy felt throughout the world, I don’t care who you are, you can’t say that sort of thing.

“How could he say that, what if he lost his whole family because of Covid? That one right there made me speak against him.

“I’d love to see Chandler-Conor get made because I’d love to see him lose.
