Max Verstappen struggles as Red Bull star causes red flag after Imola crash

Max Verstappen struggled on Friday at the Imola Grand Prix, as a Red Bull star suffered a late crash at the end of FP2.

Red Bull junior and Racing Bulls star Isack Hadjar brought out a red flag towards the end of FP2, after he spun at Turn 3 and hit the tyre barrier where he got stuck in the gravel.

Elsewhere, Gabriel Bortoleto caused a late red flag in FP1 when he lost his Sauber on the kerb at Rivazza 1, although still emerged with an impressive P9 finish in the session.

A familiar face also returned on Friday, with Franco Colapinto back in the cockpit for the Imola Grand Prix with Alpine, after he was announced as Jack Doohan’s replacement for the next five rounds at least.
