If Patrick Mahomes played in the NBA, which player would he resemble the most?
Patrick Mahomes is already the son of a former MLB athlete who played for teams such as the Minnesota Twins, the Texas Rangers, the New York Mets, the Chicago Cubs, the Boston Red Sox, and Pittsburgh Pirates. You could say that the multi-disciplinary athlete is within Patrick Mahoes’ veins. Leading up to his fourth Super Bowl, he attended the media day to talk to every media outlet in the world with a press pass to the event. All players from both teams get asked all sorts of questions during this event, one of which included Golden State Warriors ace, Stephen Curry. Mahomes was asked which NBA player he resembles the most.

At first glance, perhaps getting to pin point what style of play Patrick Mahomes would have may be slightly difficult. But it’s safe to say that quarterbacks and point guards essentially do a similar type of work. They are the ones responsible for organizing the game and they set up their teammates to score points. But which player would Patrick Mahomes resemble the most? Here is what he said: “If I played basketball, I’d be just like Steph Curry. I mean I’ve got the shot. I just got a little couple extra reps, couple shots up and I’d be shooting just like him. That’s who I would be.”

In the past, the two aces have already crossed paths in a different sport. Back in 2023, they played a couples golf match in which Curry had Klay Thompson as his teammate and Mahoems had Travis Kelce. Taylor Swift’s beau was the one who won that game but a rivalry between all of these athletes was born on that weekend. We will never get to see Patrick Mahomes play in the NBA but at least now we know how to imagine he would do. The creativity and delivery is already there.
