The KC Chiefs quarterback’s father admits it’s his fault his son is like this.
Patrick Mahomes is one of the most successful quarterbacks of the last decade. He has never missed a postseason in his career and has won two Super Bowls. Despite this, social media has not stopped trolling him for his dad bod, to the point that his father, Pat Mahomes Sr., had to jump in his defense.
Last week, Mahomes and his Kansas City Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens to advance to their second consecutive Super Bowl, their fourth in five years, and several videos of the team’s locker room celebrations went viral that same night.
Among them, one stood out in which Patrick Jr., shirtless, addresses the team: “Great job today. Like I’ve been saying – we ain’t done yet.” Netizens were quick to point out and mock the player’s body, calling it a “dad bod.”
The quarterback himself resorted to his sense of humor to respond to criticism. However, his father also decided to enter into the controversy to defend him, taking all the blame for it
"I have never seen a kid that worked as hard as he did, that grinded every day to try to make himself better. Like he says, each and every day. It was just crazy."

He got that from me: Mahomes Sr.
In an interview with international media, Mahomes Sr. admitted that he had already seen the photos. He even discussed the issue with his son and did not hesitate to defend him: “He’s at the gym all the time. He works out three times a week.”
The former MLB pitcher assured that everything is genetic. “He’s just unfortunate he got that from me. That’s in his DNA. We don’t get the muscles like DK Metcalf and some of the guys that are built like rocks and statues.”
Pat Sr. concluded by saying, “We just got this natural dad bod, but hey, we representing.”

Patrick Mahomes has received all kinds of criticism throughout his career. It even has been said that the NFL is rigged for him and the Chiefs to reach the Super Bowl. After that, it’s hard to think that body shaming can affect his mood.
Mahomes and his Chiefs are on their way to fighting for their third Super Bowl ring, and internet trolls and pranksters can’t change that.
