Lewis Hamilton endured a miserable Friday during FP1 and FP2 at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, with a red flag causing chaos in the second session.

Late drama then hit FP2 after Yuki Tsunoda crashed his Red Bull at the final corner, which caused a red flag and stopped the session briefly as the marshals collected the debris.

Before even starting the session, Gabriel Bortoleto was ruled out of FP2 after his Sauber suffered a fuel leak, a nightmare for the rookie as the evening session was his only chance of representative running in Jeddah.

In FP1, Pierre Gasly shocked the field by setting the fastest time on the soft tyres, ahead of both McLarens with championship leader Lando Norris in second.

Former Red Bull driver Liam Lawson, was also investigated after FP1 for ‘failing to follow the race directors instructions’, and was handed a reprimand by the stewards instead of a sporting penalty.
