But on Thursday Margot Robbie looked almost unrecognisble as she debuted a distinctly androgynous look at the prestigious Hugh Boss prize in New York.

The 24-year-old Australian actress was transformed as she stepped out in a masculine, jet-black tuxedo at the star studded event held at the Guggenheim Museum without her boyfriend Tom Ackerely.

Daring to bare the Wolf Of Wall Street star wore the plunging colour blocking, which was accented with a silk trim.

Experimenting with the new sartorial direction she teamed the power dressing two-piece with a simple gold necklace and a pair of metallic heels, which no doubt would have caused a stir at the lauded event.

The transformation wasn’t just restricted to Margot’s garments, however.

The leggy blonde elevated the drama with colour popping pillar box red lipstick, while her lashes gave a doll-like impression.

The notable event is one of the art world’s most coveted awards, honouring the work of international contemporary artists and draws a celebrity crowd.

Inside the event Margot mingled with Kate Bosworth and Jason Wu who rocked a similar style to the actress in a dark suit.

Kate, in contrast, wore a 𝑠e𝑥y, monochrome mini dress that played up her femininity.

The trio of celebrities were at the event to see one of the five finalists – Paul Chan, Sheela Gowda, Camille Henrot, Hassan Khan and Charline von Heyl – be announced as winner and become the beneficiary of the $100,000 U.S prize money.

The previous night Margot was spotted cosying up to her month of six months Tom Ackerley in the stands at Madison Square Gardens, as the New York Rangers took on the Philadelphia Flyers.

The besotted twosome could barely keep their hands off each other as they sat side by side at one point enjoying a kiss on the lips.

News of their relationship first surfaced in June when the pair were photographed kissing in London.
