Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum reveals why Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock joins forces with Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle in Daredevil: Born Again, officially bringing the Punisher into the MCU. Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle was last seen in The Punisher season 2’s ending, going completely off the grid to wipe out criminal gangs all on his own. Meanwhile, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock has taken both his job as a lawyer and his vigilante activities to the next level, as he represented Happy Hogan in Spider-Man: No Way Home and fought criminals alongside his fellow laywer and superhero Jennifer Walters in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. Speaking to EW about everything Daredevil: Born Again has in store for Marvel fans, Marvel Head of Streaming, Television and Animation Brad Winderbaum teases Daredevil and the Punisher’s first MCU encounter. Winderbaum remarks, “working with Jon and working with that character is always really intense, really satisfying,” and reveals Matt Murdock finds himself forced to rely on Frank Castle’s violent approach to vigilantism in Daredevil: Born Again, suggesting Daredevil will be pushed to the edge by his MCU enemies.
