Former California Property of ‘Bridget Jones’ Star Renee Zellweger Lists for Nearly $8 Million

A nearly 10-acre Southern California hacienda-style ranch that previously was the home of two-time Oscar-winning actress Renee Zellweger has just come on the market for $7.995 million.

The “Bridget Jones” rom-com film series star, who bought the Topanga property in 2015 for $3.35 million, sold it in 2021 for $6.4 million, according to published reports.

Mansion Global could not immediately determine the identity of the latest seller, which is listed as a limited partnership.

“This property embraces the early California rancho style while merging contemporary features for today’s luxury living,” said Carl Gambino of the Gambino Group at Compass, who listed it on Monday with colleague John Bercsi. “The property and surrounding nature forge together to provide a truly magical experience.”

The private retreat, which is in the Mesa area of the Topanga Hills, is close to the Westside, celebrity-filled enclave Calabasas and the beach.

Approached via a long drive shaded by oak trees, the 4,414-square-foot house, which has recently been renovated and rebuilt from the studs, is set among meadows, lawns and hiking trails, and features stone and tile patios. The pool patio is positioned to take in the canyon and mountain views.

Gambino said that the current owner’s “substantial upgrades build on the charm imbued by the previous resident’s renovation.”

Zellweger, 55, bought the property a year before starring in “Bridget Jones’s Baby,” which was released in 2016. The latest in the four-film series, “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,” just hit theaters on Friday.
