Conor McGregor has his sights set on three MMA veterans for his BKFC debut.
Yesterday, ‘The Notorious’ headed to Florence to host a press conference for the promotion’s blockbuster show in Italy.
Lots came from the media event, from verbal insults exchanged between the fighters, to McGregor even teasing that he’s in talks to bring Fedor Emelianenko to the organization.
However, the biggest talking point was, of course, the Irishman providing an update on what his own future holds.
Conor McGregor wants Eddie Alvarez, Mike Perry and Jeremy Stephens
While it’s been a long time since Conor McGregor last walked out into battle, his fire to fight still burns bright.
The 37-year-old would love to compete in BKFC, claiming that he’s targeting a world championship belt.
During the BKFC: Italy press conference, he claimed: “If you think I’m up here giving these speeches and leading these men into battle and I won’t step in there myself, think again.
“I would wish to be the Bare Knuckle world champion. That is a significant belt to hold in your career. Nobody from boxing or mixed martial arts can speak nothing bad on a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship world champion. So, for sure, I would be coming in looking for the world title.”
In addition, McGregor revealed a three-man hit-list, featuring a trio of fan favorites.
The striker exclaimed: “There are many bouts, showcase bouts. You could say, Mike Perry. You could say, Jeremy Stephens. You could say a rematch against Eddie Alvarez. You could say many matches.
“But the lightweight title, who’s the champion right now, lightweight, welterweight, let’s see. I am open. We will see when it comes.”
Currently, Franco Tenaglia holds the 155-pound strap, while Austin Trout is the King of the 165-pound division.
Conor McGregor cheers on BKFC fighter as he recreates infamous Jose Aldo press conference moment
While McGregor is perhaps no longer in his prime, the world hasn’t forgotten about what he achieved during his heyday.
With a phenomenal arsenal of kicks, and a dynamite left hand, the warrior was a truly terrifying competitor inside the cage.
However, he was much more than just a fighter, with the former two-weight UFC champion, captivating the world with his trash talk.
