There has been much conjecture over Spider-Man’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now there are rumors that Spider-Man 4: Brand New Day may be in the works. According to reports, Tom Holland is in talks to play Peter Parker again, and the movie is said to adopt a gritty, more realistic style than its predecessors.
After the multiversal madness of No Way Home, which saw Peter Parker erased from the memories of his closest allies, Brand New Day is said to focus on a lonely, street-level Spider-Man grappling with his new reality. The title itself—taken from a controversial Spider-Man comic book arc—hints at Peter trying to rebuild his life while dealing with the consequences of Doctor Strange’s spell.
A leaked synopsis reportedly describes the film as: “Peter Parker is truly alone, surviving in the shadows of New York. But when a new enemy rises and threatens the city, he must decide whether to embrace his identity as Spider-Man once more, even if it means doing so without the ones he loves.”
