Conor McGregor uses a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo to reignite Floyd Mayweather feud as the UFC icon laughs off suggestions the American earned £195m from their 2017 clash

Conor McGregor has seemingly reignited his feud with boxing royalty Floyd Mayweather by a tweeting a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The UFC icon was sat beside Ronaldo for the highly-anticipated ‘Day of Reckoning’ boxing card in Saudi Arabia earlier in December, with a front row seat for Anthony Joshua’s win over Otto Wallin.

McGregor and Mayweather traded blows in a mouth-watering crossover clash back in 2017, the Irishman losing by technical knockout in the 10th round in Las Vegas.

In an interview following the main event he offered an update on his fighting future, suggesting that his next bout could see him face former eight-weight world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao in the Gulf state.

McGregor also insisted that his patience with the UFC is ‘wearing thin’, noting that negotiations surrounding his return to the Octagon after more than two years of inactivity have thus far proved fruitless.

Now though the 35-year-old has been accused of waiting out for an ‘easier fight’ by UFC rival Chandler, who thinks the Irishman is trying to take the ‘smartest fight’.
