Study finds Scarlett Johansson, Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley, and Taylor Swift possess flawlessly shaped lips.

For many women, getting the perfect pout means shelling out hundreds of pounds on cosmetic surgery or fillers.

Now scientists claim to have discovered what makes lips look most attractive – and warned that injectables could be doing more harm than good.

In fact, making lips too big or too small for your face could actually make you look more unattractive.

The study also suggested that Taylor SwiftAngelina JolieKeira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson all have the perfect shaped lips.

The researchers asked 101 people – 52 women and 49 men – to rate different facial images.

Eye-tracking technology was then used to discover which part of the face the participants were most drawn to. Pictured: Keira Knightley

Eye-tracking technology was then used to discover which part of the face the participants were most drawn to.

The scientists found that the most attractive position of the lips was when the distance between the bottom of the lips and the chin was twice the distance between the top of the lips and the nose.

The panel also rated the images highly when the thickness of the lower lip was a quarter of the distance between the bottom of the lip and the chin, and when the depth of the upper lip was equal to half the distance between the lip and the nose.

For men, the space between the nose and lip should be three times the depth of the lips. Dermatologist Sebastian Cotofana, of Rotterdam’s Erasmus Medical Center, who led the study, said: ‘The proportion of the lips in relation to other facial features is crucial when trying to enhance individual beauty with injectable fillers.
