As a longtime fan of the Pirates franchise, Butler would have plenty of reasons to sign on. However, with the uncertain and controversial nature of the reboot, the slow-moving Margot Robbie-led Pirates film, and the lingering effects of the Depp-Heard case, the future of Jack Sparrow’s cinematic legacy remains unclear. If Butler were to join *Pirates of the Caribbean 6*, any official announcement would likely still be a long way off.
