Jake Paul has inserted himself into Conor McGregor’s latest social media feud.
The former dual-weight UFC champion backed Paul Hughes before, during, and after his controversial majority decision defeat against Bellator lightweight titleholder Usman Nurmagomedov.
However, Conor McGregor reacted furiously when footage showed his Irish compatriot having a friendly conversation with Khabib Nurmagomedov, who has been the UFC legend’s bitter rival for years.
A mostly one-sided war of words between McGregor and Hughes has since played out on social media.
Jake Paul reacts to Conor McGregor vs Paul Hughes beef
Just after Israel Adesanya got knocked out by Nassourdine Imavov at UFC Saudi Arabia, Jake Paul took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to throw a dig at McGregor, whilst simultaneously sending a message of support to Hughes.
“Conor is the biggest UFC fighter of all time, we have to admit that,” he tweeted.
“But equally you have to admit that he’s absolutely not a leader and can’t build the next man up.
“What fighter has he helped and truly pushed? Even taking shots at a young Irish star on the rise…
“Paul, you will have a big big big fight / event in Dublin coming your way. I’m sure Ireland will show up and shower you with the appreciation you deserve. Class act you are.”

Paul’s comments come just days after he shared footage of his recent meeting with McGregor.
Mike Tyson’s comeback opponent questioned ‘Notorious’ about a potential $500 million exhibition boxing bout with his brother, Logan Paul, who hasn’t fought since picking up a disqualification win over McGregor’s teammate, Dillon Danis, in October 2023.
Dana White comments on Conor McGregor’s return
It’s been almost four years since McGregor broke his leg during the UFC 264 main event in July 2021.
UFC boss Dana White has previously shut down talk about his biggest star fighting Logan Paul or KSI.
“No,” White replied when asked if McGregor was going to fight Paul during an appearance on the Pardon My Take podcast.
“No, no, no,” White added when the prospect of McGregor vs KSI was brought up.
“Hopefully, Conor McGregor returns in the fall of this year.”
White seemed less certain about McGregor’s fighting future in the immediate aftermath of UFC Saudi Arabia.
“I’m not sure when Conor will be back,” White admitted.
Only time will tell if fight fans will ever get to see McGregor return to the UFC Octagon.
