Eddie Hearn has let Conor McGregor know that he may be in for a harder night than he thinks if he faces one of YouTube’s most notorious boxers.
For the last month, there have been reports of a potential bout between McGregor and Logan Paul, as well as potentially his brother Jake. However, the name that appears to have captured the most attention on social media is KSI, who runs the infamous Prime brand with Logan.
KSI has boxed eight times, including two bouts with the elder Paul brother which he drew and won. Most recently he went the distance with Tommy Fury, losing a razor-close decision, and was due to return to the ring last year before pulling out with an injury.
KSI emerges as a potential contender for Conor McGregor fight
The initial reports of a Conor McGregor return to the boxing ring pitched him against the elder of the Paul brothers. However, with Logan’s insistence that he would be dedicating his life to WWE, talks moved towards a new opponent, with KSI the most logical next choice.

The matchup makes the most sense of the three pitched as an athletic contest; KSI has fought as low as 175lb while Jake just competed at 227lb and Logan walks around similarly. McGregor has also called out KSI on a number of occasions, and they even once filmed a YouTube video together.
As such, social media was abuzz when KSI tweeted that a potential meeting with McGregor was “Not rumoured,” and that he is “very down.”
Eddie Hearn warns Conor McGregor of KSI’s dangers in the ring
One man who knows about KSI all too well is Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn. The renowned promoter famously put on his professional debut; a rematch of his white collar bout with Logan Paul, in 2019.
Hearn is also close with McGregor, who sponsors a number of Matchroom events and has made countless appearances ringside. But he isn’t sure if he will be able to cope with the Brit’s awkward style that makes him a tough matchup for fighters who should be far out of his league skill-wise.
“I don’t know,” Hearn replied when asked by Bloody Elbow in an exclusive chat who he feels will win the fight. “The thing is that KSI’s got a real horrible style. Conor’s boxed before but at the same time, you saw in the Tommy Fury fight that KSI has got that kind of style that’s very hard to get hold of.
“So it’s always going to be a messy, messy fight. So I don’t know, who knows what’s going to happen in that mad mad world? But best of luck to everybody.”
KSI’s promoter is in talks for Conor McGregor fight
While Dana White has rubbished the idea that McGregor would fight KSI or Paul, Misfits Boxing boss Mams Taylor says there are serious negotiations underway.
“There are talks taking place, and talks are leading to more talks,” he told TalkSPORT this week. “I know he’s interested for a fact. I think no fight makes more sense than this fight for Conor. He was truly unbelievable in the days where he fought Jose Aldo.
“He’s a tough guy, he’s a tough challenge for anyone and I think now with the back and forth, it makes sense. I think this will break records and be in the top five biggest selling pay-per-views of all-time.
“I think all sides are motivated by what it can do, they can both sell. There is an underlying respect and disdain there too. I think it will be a massive, massive fight and I can’t think of a fight that would be bigger for Conor in terms of numbers.”
