Patrick Mahomes Sr. is a certified Swiftie.
The father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes Jr. praised Taylor Swift for being so down-to-earth despite her unfathomable stardom.
During an interview with Kansas City outlet Starcade Media, Mahomes Sr. was asked about the 12-time Grammy winner’s relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
“She’s down to earth,” he said of the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker.
“I actually walked up and introduced myself to her, and she said she knew who I was because she had watched the ‘Quarterback’ series,” he added, referring to the hit Netflix series about his son and two other NFL quarterbacks in the 2022-23 season.
Mahomes Sr., who pitched for the Mets in 1999 and 2000, called Swift, 34, “down to earth” a second time, adding that she took the time to snap some selfies with his daughters.
“Every time I’ve hung out with her, she just acts like a normal person,” he added.
It seems as though Swift has won over the Mahomes family altogether, as in October the quarterback’s mother, Randi Mahomes, also sang Swift’s praises.
After Swift joined Patrick’s wife Brittany, his brother, Jackson, sister Mia Randall, and mom Randi at the VIP box to support the Chiefs, the Mahomes family had nothing but nice things to say about the singer.
“I love how sweet Taylor was to my girl!!” Randi wrote alongside a sweet snap of Swift with the athlete’s 12-year-old half-sister, Mia, adding the hashtag girl power to the Instagram Story.
Randi shares Patrick Jr. and Jackson, 23, with Mahomes Sr. The pair split in 2006.
Swift has also become BFFs with the quarterback’s wife, Brittany, since kickstarting her relationship with Kelce.
The duo have spent a lot of time together in recent months, whether it be watching their beaus at games or hitting the town.
Most recently, the duo sported matching custom coats during the Kansas City Chiefs’ winning game against the Miami Dolphins last week.
The “Blank Space” singer bundled up for the below-zero temperatures in a custom Chiefs jacket designed by Kristin Juszczyk — the wife of 49ers player Kyle Juszczyk — that featured Kelce’s last name and jersey number.
Brittany, who followed suit in a similar custom-made coat with her husband’s name and number on the back, also wore black pants and a white hat.
