Conor McGregor trolls Khabib Nurmagomedov with subtle mockery on social media as rivalry flares up again

Conor McGregor isn’t letting Khabib Nurmagomedov off the hook.

McGregor has taken a subtle dig at ‘The Eagle’ just days after Nurmagomedov was controversially removed from his Frontier Airlines flight over an exit seat dispute.

McGregor and Nurmagomedov had one of the most heated feuds in UFC history, culminating in their record-setting PPV at UFC 229 and subsequent post-fight brawl after Nurmagomedov submitted his adversary. Now, McGregor is getting jabs in where he can.

Conor McGregor follows airline that kicked Khabib Nurmagomedov off of plane

McGregor took a slight dig at Nurmagomedov by following Frontier Airlines on Instagram following the viral incident.

McGregor doesn’t have any fights lined up; up until recently, McGregor was entertaining a fight with Logan Paul. Paul later announced he would focus purely on wrestling. In the meantime, influencers like KSI have called out McGregor for the opportunity.

Nurmagomedov will be cornering his man, Islam Makhachev, in the main event of UFC 311 this weekend. He makes a record fourth title defense of his lightweight strap, though Makhachev is indifferent about beating Nurmagomedov’s lightweight defense record.

Makhachev will be the first Nurmagomedov team champion to don custom UFC shorts. Makhachev’s championship shorts were revealed on January 14 and pay homage to the Caucasus mountains and warrior culture with what appears to be a Khanjali or Qama dagger on the hip.

Frontier Airlines release statement amid Khabib Nurmagomedov controversy

Frontier Airlines issued a statement on the Nurmagomedov incident denying any major responsibility for what occurred.

“According to the flight attendant, Mr. Nurmagomedov did not respond, despite repeated attempts, which placed him in non-compliance with FAA requirements,” Frontier Airlines told MMA Fighting.

“The flight attendant informed Mr. Nurmagomedov that he could be moved to a different upgraded seat or exit the plane. Videos circulating on social media platforms do not capture this interaction, and instead show a subsequent interaction after a gate agent entered the plane and reiterated the option to be reseated.”

The incident has also resulted in McGregor’s rival, Michael Chandler, hitting out at Frontier Airlines, proposing a means-tested method of picking exit seat passengers.
