Roman Reigns and The Rock shared a heartfelt moment during Raw on Netflix debut episode.
At the Raw on Netflix premiere episode on 6th January, Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa to earn back his Ula Fala rightfully. Achieving back his Tribal Chief position, fans saw The Rock come out at the end of the bout, to hand over the prestigious Samoan necklace to Reigns.
Earlier in the show, fans saw The Rock return after a span of almost ten months to a roaring yet confused crowd. No longer embracing his Final Boss gimmick, he interacted positively with the crowd and even looked to have moved past his feud against Cody Rhodes.
While fans expected The Brahma Bull to face Reigns at WrestleMania 41, the latest segment suggested something else. The two embraced each other, shared mutual respect, and showed no signs of animosity. Speaking on his Off The Top podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi was left surprised at The People’s Champion’s actions.
Initially shocked at the turn of events, the veteran believed the segment to be a passing of the torch moment between the two cousins.
“[So, in your opinion, that was The Rock passing on the torch to Roman Reigns?] I feel, yes. I mean, I thought it was done very well.”
Despite multiple reports circulating on the web, it is still not sure if fans can watch Dwayne Johnson return ahead of WrestleMania 41.
WWE Veteran Still Cannot ‘Write Off’ The Rock’s Possible WrestleMania 41 Appearance
A part of an extremely busy schedule, The Rock has long been rumored to not feature in the upcoming WrestleMania. However, based on his powerful position in TKO, wrestling veteran Eric Bischoff still cannot completely write off his involvement.
“I don’t see it. The guy just bought almost 100,000 shares of TKO stock. You think he’s not gonna try to move a needle any time he’s got the opportunity? I don’t think so. I think he loves this. I think it’s good Dwayne Johnson the actor. There’s no downside. Now, if he’s got a movie project and he’s contractually not able to participate in WrestleMania, I get that. That’s business. But unless that’s the case, I wouldn’t be so quick to write anything off at this point.
I think the level of storytelling and the confidence in the creative approach, lot of little Easter eggs that I saw, or perhaps I wanted to see, which is kind of fun. You can read so much into it. That’s one of the things that makes wrestling so much fun, as compared to other forms of entertainment.”
