Miles Teller provides an optimistic update on Top Gun 3, sharing what he has learned about the sequel from Tom Cruise. The sequel, directed by Joseph Kosinski, was released in theaters in 2022, 36 years after the first Tony Scott film. In it, Cruise reprises his role as Maverick, training a new group of recruits, including Goose’s son Teller’s Rooster, for a perilous mission. Following the film’s enormous critical and commercial success, Top Gun 3’s development was announced; but, since then, there have been little official updates on the project.

During a recent interview with Collider, Teller speaks briefly about Top Gun 3, revealing that he has spoken to Cruise about it. Though the actor doesn’t seem to know anything about the status of the script, he does stress that there’s a great deal of enthusiasm to see the sequel get made.
