Logan Paul teased fans with a simple message on social media after Conor McGregor announced the pair were in talks for a boxing match.
This morning, McGregor wrote on X that he has agreed to face the elder Paul brother in the ring next year, and that ‘preliminary agreements’ for the event were being made. Bloody Elbow sources have indicated that Paul’s team are in legitimate talks as well.
The bout, which would be funded by the ultra-rich Ambani family, would take place in India. Now, Paul has taken to Instagram to send the briefest of brief messages to fans that were waiting for his response throughout the day.
Conor McGregor announces he has agreed to Logan Paul fight
Yesterday, rumors began in the world of MMA that Conor McGregor’s return to the octagon would be against featherweight champion Ilia Topuria. This followed a statement from Dana White at Saturday’s UFC Tampa press conference that he had begun talks about a mind blowing surprise fight in 2025.
However, the controversial Irishman has shut down claims that he is in talks to fight the Spaniard next year. He instead shockingly revealed that he is in ‘preliminary agreements’ to fight Logan Paul in his first professional boxing match since a 2017 effort against Floyd Mayweather.
“The rumors of a bout with Topuria are false,” he wrote on X in a post that has been viewed over 3million times. “I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon.”
Logan Paul posts for the first time since Conor McGregor’s fight agreement
When McGregor made his initial tweet, there was a lot of fan speculation that he may have been referring to Logan’s younger brother Jake Paul, who is considered a more serious boxer. Logan defeated Danis last year in a farcical Misfits Boxing bout, and had previously never won in three efforts.
But it turns out that there is in fact serious talks ongoing about the fight, and it will be WWE star Logan, the physically bigger of the brothers, involved. In a brief post to fans this evening, he simply shared a photo on he and McGregor along with a repost of the tweet.
He then added an emoji of two eyes, indicating that there may be something to what is being said, or at least that he finds the discussion interesting.
