Tommy Fury and Jake Paul’s boxing rivalry has reignited after Fury issued a fresh challenge for a rematch on social media.
The British boxer took to Instagram to address claims he was avoiding a second fight with the American YouTube star.
The exchange has quickly escalated into a heated war of words, with both fighters trading barbs over potential negotiations for a highly anticipated rematch.
Fury insisted he was ready to discuss “serious numbers” for the bout, prompting an immediate and scathing response from Paul.
In his Instagram video, Fury directly addressed comments made on Logan Paul’s podcast about him allegedly avoiding the fight.
“I’ve beat you once already, I handed you your first loss. The minute you stepped in there with a real boxer… you lost fair and square,” Fury declared.
“I can give you a second loss, that’s not a problem. But let’s talk some serious numbers down the phone,” he continued.
The British boxer emphasised his confidence, stating: “I can come back after a year and beat the pair of you.”
Paul’s response on social media was swift and brutal, targeting both Fury’s professional and personal life.
“What an absolute muppet. Buddy you just pulled out of a fight for the 3rd time. You have ZERO credibility,” Paul posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The American claimed Fury had rejected an $8 million offer for the rematch.
Paul also took aim at Fury’s personal circumstances, referencing his relationship with Molly Mae Hague, legal issues with DAZN, and his father’s involvement in his career.
The feud stems from their previous encounter in Saudi Arabia last year, where Fury handed Paul his first professional defeat via split decision.
Fury recently withdrew from his scheduled January 18 bout with former UFC fighter Darren Till.
The withdrawal came after Till threatened to resort to MMA tactics during the fight.
“I am a professional boxer… I wanted this to be a great BOXING fight for the fans,” Fury explained regarding his decision to pull out.
Paul has yet to confirm his next fight date following his record-breaking event with Mike Tyson last month.
Meanwhile, Fury remains undefeated, having beaten Paul’s rival KSI in October.
The potential rematch holds significant appeal for Paul, as it represents his only professional defeat to date.
A victory over Fury could prove crucial for Paul’s ambitious goal of becoming a world champion.
Both fighters appear open to the bout, though negotiations over terms remain a significant hurdle.
