A year after coming out of prison, Tyson was already heavyweight world champion thanks to the help of Don King.

And it was the legendary yet controversial promoter who made Iron Mike a rich man again – even while locked up.

Tyson told former world champion Andre Ward: “When I went to prison I had $15million (£11.5m).

“When I came out I must have had $300-400million (£307m). I’m in there signing contracts in prison.”

Tyson had two comeback fights in 1995 upon his release before beating Frank Bruno for the WBC title a year after.

But following defeats to Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis, by 2003 Tyson had filed for bankruptcy after blowing through $250m (£190m).

And his career was over in 2005 following consecutive losses to Britain’s Danny Williams and Kevin McBride, who was also a tree surgeon.

Tyson later recouped his wealth in retirement thanks in part to his cannabis empire.

And his net worth is set to rocket another $40m (£30m) when he makes his return after 20 YEARS out to fight Jake Paul.

He takes on the YouTuber-turned-boxer on November 15 in a controversial clash slammed for the age difference.

Tyson said: “I’m a fighter, I feel good and I can do it. And I feel I can beat this guy.”
