Prince Harry has been urged to stay away from NATO after the majority of royal fans were left unimpressed with his appearance at its military committee’s meeting on Thursday.

The Duke of Sus𝑠e𝑥 appeared via video link at the military alliance’s meeting in New York and spoke to its officials about his role in the involvement of the Invictus Games, a charity supporting wounded, injured and sick service members and veterans.

While the duke was seen addressing the NATO officials from his home in Montecito, California, the charity was represented by a delegation that attended in person and included Dominic Reid, Chief Executive of Invictus; Lord Allen, Chancellor of the Board of Trustees; and Richard Smith, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

However, the duke’s appearance was not perceived well by royal fans, who thought he should steer clear of NATO.

Express.co.uk asked readers if the Duke of Sus𝑠e𝑥 should be getting involved with the military alliance and the response was overwhelmingly negative.

A total of 5,116 people were polled from 11.30am on Thursday, October 31 to 11.30am on Friday, November 1, and the majority of them responded negatively to the question.

Out of the total, more than nine in ten (4,974) voted against Prince Harry getting involved with NATO, while two in ten (105) voted positively.

Just 37 readers voted “I don’t know”. The Duke also received criticism on social media for his latest appearance.

One user wrote on X: “This is a f*****g joke. What country does Harry represent? What experience or wisdom can he offer? Do better. The world is laughing at @NATO.”

A second one agreed: “It’s embarrassing seeing a Z-list celebrity who these days is a bit of a joke being given a platform by NATO. He is all about publicity-seeking stunts to keep himself relevant.”
