David de Gea has sent a message to Alejandro Garnacho after the Argentine’s goal for Manchester United on Saturday.
Erik ten Hag’s side found themselves 1-0 down at half-time after Ethan Pinnock netted from a corner. The goal saw a furious reaction from United as Matthijs de Ligt was being treated for a head injury at the time.
Ten Hag’s team used that anger to their advantage, with Garnacho equalising just minutes into the second half with a fantastic close-range finish. Rasmus Hojlund then went on to score the winner as United earned their first Premier League win since September.
And Garnacho has reacted on social media to his goal. “ONE MORE,” he said on Instagram.
The 20-year-old received thousands of responses, including one from former United goalkeeper De Gea. The Spaniard replied in the comments section with a superhero emoji.
Others to respond included Hojlund who simply put a goat emoji (greatest of all time), while Joshua Zirkzee replied with flames emojis and a red love heart.
Garnacho has scored five goals this season and Ten Hag has discussed why having a goal target is important. The Dutchman also highlighted why he plays the United academy graduate so often.
“He has to if he wants to be a better player,” Ten Hag said after Saturday’s game. I know what he is capable of, that’s why I play him so often.
“He is a threat and has scoring abilities but also a threat in one v ones. The end product is what we need and missed in the first games.”
