Filming for The Conjuring: Last Rites has started, according to James Wan, the franchise’s creator and veteran. The film, which is the fourth installment in The Conjuring series, will act as the series’ conclusion. In The Conjuring, Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson’s Ed and Lorraine Warren, two paranormal specialists and demonologists, were followed as they exorcised an evil force from a family’s home. Due to its enormous popularity, the movie spawned two sequels as well as a number of spinoffs, the majority of which received positive reviews from critics and brought in an astounding $2 billion at the box office worldwide.

Co-producer Wan took to Instagram to share a photo from the set of The Conjuring: Last Rites. The photo itself is a picture of Wilson and Farmiga’s chairs, with their character names stitched onto the backs. In the caption, Wan says that it’s always good to hang out with old friends and that he’s going to miss everyone, as the film marks the “End of an era.”
