NBA star and savvy businessman Kevin Durant has rewarded himself with a $12.05-million oceanfront mansion in Malibu, California.
Mr. Durant, a 29-year-old forward for the Golden State Warriors and founder of The Durant Co., used a limited liability company to purchase the 5,136-square-foot contemporary house on April 16.
The nine-time All-Star is behind the newly registered entity, 35 Malibu Holdings, LLC, according to property records.
He couldn’t immediately be reached for comment. His agents for this deal declined to comment.
The mansion, sitting on a private, gated street with direct ocean frontage, was listed for $12.45 million in January. It went into contract two months later, in March, according to the Multiple Listing Service.
Rebuilt in 2013 on approximately one-quarter of an acre of land, the house has four bedrooms, six bathrooms, a private guest suite, a media room, a massage and exercise loft, as well as a library, according to the listing with Susan Monus and Chris Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker.
The home features vaulted ceilings, fireplaces, walls of glass, marble countertops, custom designs and furnishings, according to the listing.
The listing agents didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
