Heart’s Ann Wilson Puts Stunning Florida Getaway on the Market for $2 Million

Ann Wilson, lead singer and songwriter of the rock band Heart, has just listed her Florida vacation retreat for $2 million.

Wilson, whose string of 1970s hits with Heart included “Crazy on You,” “Magic Man” and “Barracuda,” bought the Palatka property, which is surrounded by moss-laden century-old oak and magnolia trees, in 2019 for $885,000, according to property records.

The property, three contiguous parcels assembled before Wilson bought it, is notable for its size—it’s 12.48 acres—and significant waterfront frontage, at 510 feet, according to the listing agents, Kim Martin-Fisher and Jennifer Martin Faulkner of Douglas Elliman Florida, who co-listed it on Tuesday.

“It’s peaceful and inspirational,” Martin Faulkner said. “There’s a circular drive between the main house and the guest house, and when you step out of the car into the lush landscaping, you feel like you’re on an island. I can see why Ann loved it and would be inspired by it and be fully able to relax there.”

Martin-Fisher added that “it’s the kind of place you go to get away from it all, especially if you’re a celebrity like Ann.”

Set along St. Johns River, Wilson’s getaway is anchored by the 4,084-square-foot main house, which has three bedrooms, 2.5 baths, two wood-burning fireplaces and a library with floor-to-ceiling bookcases and an attached office nook. There also are porches with views of the infinity pool, a spa and lanai.

The large updated guest house, which has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and an elevator, dates to the 1900s.

The property also has a 1,159-square-foot workshop, a 980-square-foot recreational vehicle port and a private dock.

Wilson renovated the interior and exterior of the guest house and did extensive work on the main house, including adding the swimming pool, according to the agents.

Palatka, which is 30 minutes from Daytona Beach and St. Augustine, is a prime example of “small-town America,” Martin-Fisher said. “It has a cute downtown with a Main Street.”

Martin Faulkner added that the blue-collar, working-class city is known for its potato farms.

Wilson, who is 74, co-founded Heart in the 1970s with her younger sister, Nancy Wilson. One of the first female-fronted rock bands, Heart has sold over 35 million albums worldwide, received four Grammy nominations and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

The band’s 2024 tour was canceled after Ann Wilson was diagnosed with cancer and had to undergo treatment. The band just announced concert dates for 2025.
