NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith’s Dallas Home, Listed for $2.2 Million, Sells Within 10 Weeks

Emmitt Smith’s longtime home in Dallas, offered for $2.2 million with a perk of a private dinner with the NFL Hall of Famer and “Dancing with the Stars” champion, has sold within 10 weeks, Mansion Global has learned.

Within days of hitting the market in late September, the 10,800-square-foot home received12 offers, said listing agent Arthur Greenstein of Douglas Elliman. The listing price, $2.2 million, was, in part, chosen in honor of Smith’s jersey number—22—during his career with the Dallas Cowboys.

The listing went into contract on Oct. 7 and closed last week, according to Mr. Greenstein, who declined to disclose the final sale price or the buyer’s identity.

The transaction has yet to appear on property records online.

But the buyer, a local businessman, “will have a private dinner with Smith,” as a perk of the purchase, Mr. Greenstein said.

The home was custom built for Mr. Smith, 52, in 1995, on a nearly 1-acre lot. It has five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, two living rooms, two offices, a media room and a dining room that seats 22, again in honor of Mr. Smith’s Cowboys jersey number, Mr. Greenstein previously told Mansion Global.

The property, centrally located with easy access to the airport and the city’s stadiums, also has an outdoor pool, a covered entertaining area with a grill and a four-car garage.

Mr. Smith played 13 seasons for the Cowboys, and was key to their three Super Bowl championships in the 1990s. He finished his career with the Arizona Cardinals in 2004, and was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.

Mr. Smith, who also won the third season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” in the fall of 2006, could not be immediately reached for comment.
