Imagine Dragons Frontman Dan Reynolds Snaps up Mid-Century Modern Home in Los Angeles

Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds has bought a lavishly overhauled Mid-Century Modern home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz for $5.8 million, a sizable discount from the almost $8 million price tag that was attached to the home when it first hit the market last summer.

The single-story spread, which combines its Mid-Century roots with an upscale tropical style, is loaded with standout bespoke details including coffered walnut ceilings, limestone flooring and white onyx skylights, as well as high-end amenities.

In its listing with Dorothy Carter and Michael Orland of Douglas Elliman, the property was billed as a “a one-of-a-kind retreat.” The pair, through a representative, declined to comment on the deal.

Mr. Reynolds, 35, purchased the four-bedroom property—which sits behind gates and at the end of a sweeping private driveway—using a trust of which his sister is trustee, property records show.

Across its 6,136 square feet, the home has an indoor-outdoor screening room, a private office with a sitting area, a rooftop entertainment deck with city views and a primary bedroom suite on its own floor along with a viewing deck.

Plus there are walls of glass, a pool and an outdoor life-size chess set. The home, built in 1955, also boasts a guest house, which is fitted with a built-in bar and a temperature-controlled wine room.

The sellers, who could not be reached for comment, had owned the home since 2014, records with PropertyShark show. They paid $2.65 million for the house—which at the time was a three-bedroom residence in need of substantial updates—before overhauling the property into its existing incarnation.

Mr. Reynolds, the lead singer of the Grammy Award-winning band, announced earlier this month that he and his wife were separating. He could not immediately be reached for comment.
