The crowd turns to booing the World Heavyweight Champion. Gunther mentions that Bret Hart is one of his childhood heroes, but keeps getting interrupted by the crowd. The Austrian acknowledges that “The Hitman” was the best in his time, but now, he is the best there is and the best there will ever be. Gunther says that he and many in the locker room grew up watching Hart, and reiterates that he was his hero. However, there is someone who is more of a favorite, and that is BILL GOLDBERG.
Sami Zayn appears! Zayn isn’t here to hear Hart jokes because he’s a Canadian hero, he’s recognized by the public, by a generational talent line that continues to pay tribute to him in their matches. Sami calls out Gunther for turning down the challenge he issued last week and wants him to prove that he really is the best. Sami Zayn vs. Gunther II for the World Heavyweight Championship?! Gunther tells Bret Hart that they’re not in the same league, and then tells Sami that, following in his hero’s footsteps, he’s on his way to being in the same league as him. That being said, Gunther’s answer to Sami is still NO.
Bret Hart calls Gunther a coward, so Gunther gets upset and takes off his jacket. Sami Zayn doesn’t allow Gunther to march back to the ring and the brawl begins at ringside. A pair of referees appear to break them up. Gunther has no choice but to retreat, while Sami Zayn raises Bret Hart’s hand in the center of the ring.
