Conor McGregor asked if he really fired Mike Perry from BKFC for losing to Jake Paul

Conor McGregor has doubled down on his dismissal of Mike Perry.

The former dual-weight champion recently became part-owner of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship [BKFC] and has been heavily promoting the fledgling combat sports league ever since.

Perry is the biggest star on the BKFC roster after beating Eddie Alvarez, Luke Rockhold and Michael ‘Venom’ Page to become the league’s inaugural ‘King of Violence’

However, he failed to impress his new boss when he crossed over to the squared circle for a fight with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in July.

McGregor took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to fire Perry after he was dropped several times in a sixth-round knockout loss to ‘The Problem Child’.

He tweeted: “Hey Mike you’re released and you can go and compete in your smelly dirty boxing championship thing, the smell of it, good luck.

“You’re fired. @BareKnuckleFC.”

Over a month after Perry’s sacking, some fans still aren’t convinced that McGregor was serious, and one of them recently asked him about it.

The fan wrote: “Bro did you really fire Mike Perry?”

McGregor responded with a question for the curious fight fan.

He asked: “See him since?”

McGregor’s response suggests that his decision is final, but Perry has always insisted that the Irishman doesn’t have the authority to release him from the promotion.

‘Platinum’ has repeatedly claimed he’s also a part-owner of BKFC.

“He doesn’t f****** have a promotion because me and him are both owners of BKFC,” Perry said during a post-fight press conference after boxing Paul.

“He can’t fire me. We can fight bare-knuckle. Look at me. I lost to Jake Paul.

“Why don’t you go fight Jake Paul and box him with the gloves on.

“I think it would be worse than Conor McGregor vs. (Floyd) Mayweather.”

Perry is currently taking some time out to rest and recover, but it seems almost certain that he will return to BKFC, despite McGregor’s recent comments.

‘Notorious’ hasn’t fought since breaking his leg during a trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.

A fight with Michael Chandler is booked and fans are impatiently waiting for UFC boss Dana White to confirm a date for the eagerly anticipated matchup.

It’s currently unclear if McGregor will return to the Octagon in 2024.
