Following their divorce, what will happen to Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor’s $1.9 million home?

For Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor, it’s officially done. Five years after getting married in an exquisite ceremony in Kentucky, the ex-costars of “Vanderpump Rules” who are now spouses are calling it quits.

The couple, who have a son together, announced that they were “taking time apart” six months prior, on August 27, when Cartwright, 35, filed for divorce from Taylor, 45.

The “The Valley” stars have been living apart for the past six months; Cartwright disclosed in February that she and her son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, had moved out of their joint $1.9 million California house and into an Airbnb.

The former Hooters waitress remarked, “Jax and I are taking time apart,” at the moment. For the benefit of my mental health, I decided to move into a different house and take a break.

However, as it turned out, their five-year marriage was about to end as well, with Cartwright alleging “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for the divorce in Los Angeles court filings.

While the couple has weathered more than their share of woes (from the Faith Stowers cheating scandal to Taylor’s recent stay at treatment facility), they now have to turn their attention to one more bone of contention—what to do with the five-bedroom, 6.5-bath house they purchased in 2019.

According to Cartwright, she has not been living at the property for at least six months now, claiming that Taylor was refusing to leave their shared home, despite her offering to get him an Airbnb.

“He’s still at the house,” she told People in April. “And I’ve been staying in different Airbnbs for months at a time. Trust me, I told him he could stay in the Airbnb that I pay for, but he doesn’t want to leave the house. So, it’s tough. But I still go back to the house whenever [he isn’t] there.”

Cartwright’s initial divorce filing did not address what may become of the shared property—although, she did request primary custody of their 3-year-old son, while also petitioning the court to block either party from seeking spousal support from the other.

So what will become of the expansive home in L.A.’s popular Valley neighborhood?

Unlike the homes the couple occupied during their time on “Vanderpump Rules,” a series that focused primarily on partying and drama, their home in the Valley is much more in keeping with the theme of their latest series, “The Valley.”

Gone are the pair’s party-hard habits, and instead this series documents their journey to becoming responsible parents—with the home serving as the primary location for this evolution.

Clean, traditional decor, with a hint of modern farmhouse, rules the day in this 4,000-square-foot abode. A large living/formal dining combo with a fireplace is up front, while the kitchen and casual eating nook follow.

A pretty powder-blue island with seating anchors the cook space, which also includes stainless steel appliances, a butler’s pantry with a wine fridge and a walk-in pantry for dry goods.

A high-beamed ceiling, walk-in closet, and private balcony with French doors grace the primary suite. An adjacent bathroom is very spacious, with double sinks, a huge shower, and deep soaking tub.

Outside, a pool and spa centers the lawn, along with a barbecue and a sweet patio that’s open to the main house. There’s also a separate cabana with its own sitting area. Other amenities include a smart home system, surround sound for rockin’ parties, and a security system with alarms and cameras.
